il cavallino focuses on Italian pizza and pasta instead of a cocktail bar

On the website of il cavallino in Zülpich the headline now highlights “authentic Italian pizza.” The previous focus on handmade cocktails and the full drinks and cocktail menu have been removed from the current presentation. Instead, starters, salads, homemade pasta and oven pizzas made with fresh ingredients are emphasized. The menu is also linked as a PDF to download or view. For the INTO THE MADNESS music event, the expected closures at Seepark Zülpich have been updated. The entire Seepark is expected to be closed from Wednesday 02.09.2026 through Tuesday 08.09.2026 inclusive. The motorhome pitch is expected to be affected from Friday 04.09.2026 at 18:00 until Sunday 06.09.2026 at 12:00. Adventure Golf is expected to stay closed from Monday 24.08.2026 through Tuesday 08.09.2026 inclusive; from 24.08.2026 there may already be restrictions in the Seepark and especially around the Seeplateau.

In good weather the watersports base at Seepark Zülpich is open during the holidays. SUP equipment can be rented at the watersports base in the park, with hire starting at 8.00 euros per hour. Using your own SUP is also possible during the bathing season at the entry point, but only while the station is staffed and for a 5.00 euro fee as of July 2026. Aqua slide park at Seepark Zülpich open in good weather

The aquapark at Seepark Zülpich is open in good weather. It now features a new aqua slide park with a large water slide plus climbing and bouncing elements. Access is from age 6 and a minimum height of 110 centimetres; solid swimming skills and life jackets are required, with jackets provided free on site. Guests under 18 need consent from a parent or guardian. Tickets are sold on site in addition to Seepark admission; the partner is Surft Beach Zülpich by Blue Playground.

Bridge in Bessenich reopened

On 30 July 2026 the City of Zülpich reports that the bridge in Bessenich has reopened. The temporarily closed bridge is near the Bessenich sports ground. From that day it is open again. The notice appears among the city’s current announcements. For the Bessenich district this restores passage at that location.
