New star special: apartment at a special price

If the sky is cloudy, a cloudless guarantee applies: the stay can be postponed free of charge up to twice. New lunch menu for week 32 at Steffen

The lunch menu runs from 03.08.2026 to 10.08.2026, served from 11:30 to 13:00. In the current calendar week 32, dishes include poultry fricassee with rice and cucumber salad as well as onion schnitzel with croquettes and salad. Further options are endive stew with two bratwursts, Steffen’s noodle casserole with leaf salad, and Eifel beef sauerbraten with red cabbage and spaetzle. Most dishes cost 10.90 euros; the sauerbraten costs 11.90 euros. As a preview for week 33, Monday lists spit roast with onions, potato gratin and vegetables for 10.90 euros.

Eifelverein Schleiden mourns Klaus Gentges

The Eifelverein Schleiden is mourning its long-standing member Klaus Gentges. He had belonged to the Schleiden local group since 1981 and died unexpectedly after a short illness on 16 July 2026 at the age of 81. As an active member he helped preserve the Eifel landscape and maintain the hiking trail network, including as first deputy chair and hiking warden and in the “Qualitatives Wandern” project. From 2000 to 2006 he was also district trail warden for the Euskirchen district group; in 2017 he received the Green Merit Pin of the main Eifelverein. Condolences go to his wife Sylvia and the family; honorary chair Heinz Vaßen spoke on behalf of the Schleiden local group.

Melanie Miniaci’s permanent make-up studio is closed for company holidays until 2 September. Appointments can be booked online again from September. Treatments are offered among other places at the Schleiden location in the Eifel. Further locations are Schloss Bedburg in the Rhein-Erft district and Hamburg-Halstenbek. A session covers personal consultation, preliminary drawing, pigmentation and aftercare in about two to three hours.

Bakery food truck at the motorhome harbour in Schleiden-Gemünd

At the motorhome harbour by the Eifel National Park in Schleiden-Gemünd, a bakery food truck is now available. The food truck from Bakery Möhrer is at the pitch in the morning. Service days are Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. The site is in the Kneipp spa town Schleiden-Gemünd at the edge of the spa park. Currently, 29 free pitches are listed.
